Office of Contracts and Grants

The Office of Contracts and Grants (OCG) is established under the Division of Research (DOR) to assist faculty in obtaining external funding to support their creative and scholarly activities. As such, OCG plays a role in helping the University fulfill its research, instruction and public service missions.

Dr. Mary Ann Ottinger, Associate Vice Chancellor/Associate Vice President for Research
The Pre-Award section of OCG is tasked with training and education, proposal development and submission, and document management.

Beverly Rymer, Director, Post-Award
Post-Award is tasked with agreement negotiation and acceptance, cost center set up, award administration, and reporting.

Use Cayuse to Submit Grants.gov Proposals
The Division of Research makes available to researchers and support staff Cayuse, a system-to-system platform for submitting grants to Grants.gov.


Research Funding Agencies and Funding Opportunities
The Pre-Award office assists researchers by providing email notifications of funding opportunities, upcoming internal awards deadlines. Pre-Award also provides resources for identifying external funding opportunities.

Proposal Preparation Guides and Reference Documents
Pre-Award. Review documents on our website, sign up to receive periodic emails, and review external resources on writing proposals.

Manage Awards
The Post-Award office of OCG is tasked with the management of awards, including technical reporting. Researchers and research staff can manage awards through the Research Administration Management Portal, or RAMP.

Contract Agreement Forms for Sponsored Programs
Post-Award. In the life of a research project, contracts agreements may be necessary in sitations such as: a speaking engagement, the transfer of non-proprietary biological materials, collaboartions with outside entitites, licensing, etc.

Pre-Award and Post-Award. Researchers and support staff need to be aware of a variety of rules and regulations that apply to awards and awards management.

Resources for Research Support Staff
Pre-Award and Post-Award. Research Administrators, Department Business Administrators and Division Business Administrators may benefit from participation in organizations that offer support and assistance in understanding awards management.

Budget Procedures and Rate Information
Post-Award. View closeout procedures, IDC/F&A rate information, fringe benefit rates, use a calculator customized for UH time and effort reporting, and link to an online currency converter.
