Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation / Clinical Investigator Award - Limited Submission Internal Due Date

Document Actions

The Cancer Research Fund announces a program to help physicians willing to devote their careers to the development and application of new diagnostic approaches and therapeutic strategies for cancer and cancer prevention through clinical investigation. Earmarked for young physicians wishing to commit themselves to substantive and innovative clinical research, the award bridges the gap between the research laboratory and patient care. The Clinical Investigator Award responds to three recognized realities: 1. Though there has never been a more pressing need or more promising time for clinical cancer research, fewer young physicians enter this area of investigation every year. 2. The number of institutions committed to training young physicians in the scientific discipline and methodologies of clinical investigation is critically low. 3. A major deterrent to physician commitment in clinical investigation is often the need to address major debts incurred during medical training. The fund's new award offers solutions to these realities.
