The Welch Foundation will be accepting Research Grant Proposals due February 1, 2008 to be considered for the next grant year, June 1 – May 31. The purpose of the research grant program is to support fundamental chemical research at educational institutions with the state of Texas.
Please note the following points:
• OCG has established an internal due date of January 14, 2008 to allow for a review of the proposal application, as well as allow time for possible revisions.
• Transmittal forms are required and can be found on the Division of Research site at http://www.research.uh.edu/Online_Forms.
• One original application (per investigator) will be submitted to the Foundation on single-sided, 8.5” x 11” paper.
• Principal investigator must be a full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty member.
• Each research grant provides a minimum of $150,000 in funding over a three-year period to support research in chemistry.
• Project Description must be 1,000 words or less—roughly five pages or less including any exhibits.
• Principal investigator’s biographical sketch is limited to two pages.
• Bibliography of the principal investigator:
o List of refereed journals within the last 24 months
o Selected papers published within the last five years most pertinent to the proposed project
